Qld: Tributes to Sunshine Coast friends killed in Kokoda crash

Family and friends of two Queenslanders killed in a Papua New Guinea plane crash have
paid special tribute to their lives.

Dr JUNE CANAVAN was going to the Kokoda track to raise money for a school in Africa
.. accompanied by her friend .. construction company owner KEITH GRACIE.

Dr CANAVAN .. a Sunshine Coast sports physician .. had planned to raise money for the
School of St Judes in Tanzania .. after learning about the school through a patient ..

whose granddaughter was the school's founder .. GEMMA SISIA.

Ms SISIA says the St Judes community's devastated to hear of the death of Dr JUNE and
they're saddened that such a passionate and energetic woman has lost her life so suddenly.

Mr GRACIE's wife LAURIE described her husband as a loving father to their adult sons
.. DYLAN and CONRAD .. a great boss to his employees .. a person who gave his time to
the coast's surf lifesaving and Buddhist communities .. and above all .. her soul mate.

Ms GRACIE says they met at 15 and have been together ever since.
