QLD: Petfood follows lettuce in series of highway spills
BRISBANE, April 21 AAP - Queensland highways - lettuces one day, pet food the next.
A semi-trailer carrying a load of dog and cat food overturned on the Cunningham highway
overnight, less than 24 hours after a truck carrying lettuces spilled its load onto the same
highway.
Police said three people were slightly injured when the pet food truck overturned on the
Cunningham Highway, just north of Aratula, at 12.40am (AEST) today.
The pet food was cleaned up in the early hours of the morning, and the highway re-opened at
5am (AEST).
The truck driver, his wife and another passenger were taken to the Ipswich Hospital for
treatment, but later released.
Yesterday, a semi-trailer carrying a load of lettuces overturned on the Cunningham Highway,
near Cunningham's Gap, blocking sections of the highway for about eight hours.
The highway was cleared by 9am (AEST).
The truck driver received minor injuries.
